Xbox game pass: What New Games Are Coming to in April 2026?

In a significant update for gamers, Microsoft has announced that Final Fantasy IV will be available on Xbox Game Pass starting April 7, 2026. This addition marks the beginning of a series of new game releases that are expected to enhance the gaming experience for subscribers.

Following Final Fantasy IV, several other titles will join the platform shortly thereafter. DayZ and Endless Legend 2 will both be available on April 8, 2026, along with FBC: Firebreak. The excitement continues with Planet Coaster 2 launching on April 9, 2026, and Football Manager 26 set to arrive on April 13, 2026.

On April 14, 2026, fans can look forward to Hades II and Replaced, while The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered will be available on April 16, 2026. The highly anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will follow on April 17, 2026, with Kiln and Vampire Crawlers rounding out the month on April 21 and 23, 2026, respectively.

This influx of new titles comes on the heels of a 50% price increase for Xbox Game Pass, which was implemented in October 2023. The new price for the Game Pass Ultimate tier is now set at $33.99. This change has sparked discussions among the gaming community regarding the value of the subscription service.

Asha Sharma, a spokesperson for Microsoft, stated, “Game Pass has become too expensive for players, so we need a better value equation.” This sentiment reflects concerns that the recent price hike may impact subscriber counts, although details remain unconfirmed.

As Xbox Game Pass continues to evolve, the introduction of popular titles like Final Fantasy IV and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare may help to retain and attract subscribers despite the increased costs. However, uncertainties linger regarding the long-term effects of the price increase and whether future Call of Duty games will launch Day-One on the platform.
