Tim Hortons is recalling thousands of colour-changing ceramic mugs due to safety concerns that could pose a burn risk to consumers. The recall, announced on March 10, 2026, comes after reports indicated that the mugs may crack or break when filled with hot liquids.
As of the announcement date, there have been 28 incident reports and one confirmed burn injury related to the mugs. The affected products are 16oz white ceramic mugs with a pink interior and handle, featuring a doughnut design. These mugs were sold in Tim Hortons restaurants and online between January 15 and February 18, 2026.
Tim Hortons has stated, “Tim Hortons has voluntarily removed these mugs from sale out of an abundance of caution.” The company is urging customers to return the mugs by April 22, 2026, for a full refund.
In total, Tim Hortons sold 25,040 units of the affected mugs in Canada during the recall period. The mugs were produced in China by Anbo Home Goods (Shenzen) Co. and imported into Canada by Umbra.
Under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, recalled products cannot be given away, redistributed, or sold, emphasizing the seriousness of the situation. Customers are advised to act promptly to ensure their safety.
