Bunker Operations Intensify
Three United States B-1B Lancer bombers have touched down at RAF Fairford in the United Kingdom, marking a significant escalation in military operations against Iran. These aircraft are currently being loaded with bunker-busting bombs fitted with JDAM guidance kits, which can be programmed with target coordinates and guided to specific locations.
The UK military has joined operations to intercept retaliatory Iranian drones and missile strikes across the Middle East, reflecting the UK’s increasingly active role in the US-Israeli conflict with Iran. According to a recent YouGov poll, only 10 percent of the British public strongly supports military action against Iran, while 37 percent strongly oppose it. Notably, 61 percent of respondents believe the reasons for the US attacks on Iran remain unclear.
Ron Hubbard, a representative from Atlas Survival Shelters, reported a tenfold increase in orders for bunkers since the attacks on Iran began earlier this month. This surge in demand highlights the growing public concern over potential escalations in conflict.
Recent satellite imagery has confirmed that Iran’s Taleghan 2 site has been struck in these military operations. The impact points suggest the possible use of very heavy bunker-buster bombs, such as the GBU-57/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator, which weighs approximately 30,000 pounds. This site has been linked to long-standing allegations of nuclear weapons-related work at Parchin, which Iran continues to deny.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding the exact bombs used in the strike on Taleghan 2 and whether the latest strike has destroyed the site permanently. U.S. Central Command has stated, “No nation should ever doubt America’s resolve,” emphasizing the US’s commitment to its military objectives in the region.
The UK Prime Minister initially refused the US permission to use UK bases for attacks on Iran but later approved a request for defensive purposes, indicating a shift in the UK’s stance amid escalating tensions.
