Bob Gale has resigned as chair of the Regional Municipality of Niagara, raising questions about the implications of his ownership of a signed copy of Adolf Hitler’s ‘Mein Kampf’. Gale’s proposal to amalgamate Niagara’s municipalities had already met with strong opposition, which may have contributed to the scrutiny surrounding his ownership of the controversial book. He expressed frustration over a member of the communist party circulating a dated document that listed him as the owner of the book, asserting that it is found in many libraries.
