Update: Man Found Dead On Highway Near Nipawin

More information has been released after a man was found dead on a highway near Nipawin.

RCMP were called at 4:15 this morning about a man found along Highway 55 2 kilometres east of Nipawin.

The man was declared dead at the scene, and he was found in the driving portion of the highway.

The investigation into the cause and circumstances that lead to his death, and a collision reconstructionist remains on scene.

The highway remains closed, and the man’s body has been sent for a forensic autopsy in Saskatoon.

A man has been killed after a collision east of Nipawin.

RCMP Media Relations confirm that a man has died after a car versus pedestrian collision on Highway 55 this morning.

No other information has been released so far.

The Highway Hotline says that portion of the highway, about 2 kilometres east of Nipawin, remains closed.

An accident on highway 55 east of Nipawin has led to the closure of the highway.

Nipawin RCMP say in a release that the highway is closed in both directions 2 kilometre’s east of Nipawin.

Officers say they have no time-frame as to when it will re-open as emergency crews are currently on scene and an investigation is underway.

No details yet as to the severity of the accident
