Melfort Ag Society Regional 4-H Beef Show and Sale Results

Grand Champion Female – Shanese Martin of Meskanaw-Ethelton 4-H Beef Club.

Reserve Champion Female – Justin Harcourt of Tisdale 4-H Beef Club.

Grand Champion Steer – Hayden Elliot-Nelson of the Meskanaw-Ethelton 4-H Beef Club.  It sold for $4.00/lb and was purchased by Farm World.

Reserve Grand Champion Steer – Gillian Fleury of the Tisdale 4-H Beef Club.  It sold for $3.70/lb.  It was purchased by Gateway Veterinary Services.

Sixty-six steers sold with an average of $3.00 per pound including the Champions and $2.96/lb without the champions.

The 2018 Charity Steer weighing 1464 lbs raised $19,742.00, with all proceeds going to the Jim Pattison Hospital Foundation directed towards Epilepsy Research.            The winner of the Charity Steer was Co-op Feed Mill of Melfort and it was donated back and purchased by Townside Enterprises and First Pass Floaters.

Ninety-two members from Beatty, Meskanaw-Ethelton, Three Lakes, Bar-West, Moose Range, and Tisdale 4-H Beef Clubs displayed 180 head of cattle .
