A volcanic eruption in Guatemala last month has killed hundreds, and has also left even more missing.
Rotary World Community Services is doing their part to help by asking for donations that will help those in Guatemala according to Treasurer Brian Cocks.
“We’ve already sent down some money for medical supplies and we’ve just received a few more (donations) that we have on hand and will be sending down this week,” said Cocks.
The volcano erupted on June 3rd and it had subsequent eruptions with lava coming down so fast that villagers couldn’t get out of the way in time.
“Problems continue with the volcano, people are still in need of many medications and treatment requirements,” Cocks explained.
Donations can be mailed to Box 3541 in Melfort and there are tax receipts for donations.
