The Melfort Business Revitalization Corporation is resurrecting an important event in the city.

The Corporation is taking over this year’s Show and Shine from the Melfort Chamber, and the event will be held in the downtown core as usual on Friday.

Co-Chair Tara Muntain said Main street from Stovel to Sask Ave. will be closed and used for the car show.

“This is the 29th year, we just have a different group spearheading it this year,” Muntain said.

There will be cold beverages and pizza at the Melfort Legion, and food booths throughout the show as well.

Muntain said there will also be kids activities happening and the Northeast off roaders will give demonstrations.

They are hopeful that the weather will be cooperative but they will keep an eye on the forecast throughout the morning.

“We’ll make the call at 1pm, there will be no guessing,” said Muntain. “It will be on social media, you can check our facebook at Main Street Melfort.”

It is just $10 to register a vehicle for the event that takes place from 4-9pm.

Registration is from 3-6pm in the old 7/11 parking lot on the corner of Main Street and Sask Ave.

Riverside Melfort Chrysler is hosting a kick-off barbecue from 11:30-1:30pm.
