The Nipawin Hawks held their awards banquet on Saturday night.

The team, along with their family’s and fans gathered to hand out some hardware and celebrate the season.

Josh McDougall was the big winner, taking home a total of 4 awards including MVP, Best Offensive Defenceman, 2nd Star Overall, and Top Scorer.

He says “It’s pretty cool to be named among these other guys on my team. We have a great group of guys and I’m just really honoured to accept these awards.”

Carter Doerksen took home a trio of awards which includes the Community Service Award.

He says “what we give back is just a fraction of what we get from the community, so whenever we can go out and help and do stuff it’s a pleasure. It’s fun, Special Olympics is fun, skating with the kids is fun, all that stuff is fun. It’s what hockey is about and the community does so much for us, that it doesn’t do it justice what they do for us.”
