A sprinkler line burst at the Melfort Mall on Friday night has lead to the temporary closure of the building.

Just after 6pm, Melfort Fire and Rescue responded to fire alarms ringing at the mall.

Firefighters shut off the alarm system and the sprinklers to prevent any further water damage within the building.

It is not known how long the repairs to the system will take.

The building will not re-open until the sprinkler system is back to normal operation.
