Several hundred SaskEnergy costumers were without natural gas this morning in the Melfort area.
A rupture in a high pressure transmission line between Weldon and Birch Hills before 8am is the cause of the outage.
Crews were dispatched to work on the line and another line was able to supply gas to the Melfort, Kinistino, and St. Brieux area.
Technicians will be going door-to-door restoring services and assisting those that were affected. With temperatures dipping to minus 23 this morning it is important for customers to have their furnaces re-lit.
Customers that are not home when technicians arrive will be left with a note instructing them to call SaskEnergy for assistance.
Once the line has been repaired an investigation will be conducted to determine the cause.
