The Melfort Mustangs were looking to win back to back games on Wednesday night after a Saturday win against Weyburn.
The Mustangs started slow on the road again, giving up the first goal of the game 2:19 in to Daniel Chartrand who got his first goal as an Ice Wolf.
Melfort would respond in the second after being down 1-0 after 1.
Colin Schmidt would score 11:50 into the second, picking up a Drew Warkentine faceoff win, then sniping it past Merek Pipes.
Carson Albrecht would add another 5 minutes later on the powerplay, giving the Mustangs a 2-1 lead.
Reed Gunville would make it 3-1 when he tipped a point shot passed Pipes on the powerplay.
Rock Ruschkowski would give the Mustangs some more breathing room with 3 minutes to play in the 3rd, getting his 5th of the season.
With less than 2 minutes to play, Drew Warkentine got involved with Stephon Perrault which drew a crowd and some fighting majors for the 2 opponents as well as Connor Smith who got involved.
Evan Plotnik was solid through the 3rd period, stopping everything he saw.
The win gives the Mustangs 2 wins in a row away from home after breaking an 8 game road losing streak last week.
Other winners on Wednesday evening were; Weyburn and Notre Dame.
Melfort gets almost a week off before visiting Yorkton next week.
