Without the STC, getting to the provinces bigger centers can be difficult but one company is helping.

Charlies Charters has begun a two day a week trip from Tisdale to Saskatoon.

“We’ve lost money every trip so far but we decided we would go every Tuesday and Thursday until the new year at least just to give people a chance to catch on and to get the word out there,” explained Chris Musselman of Charlie’s Charters.

He said that December has picked up but they are worried that the higher numbers are only due to Christmas and family visiting.

He said they do try to accommodate pick-up and drop-offs to everyone’s needs.

A majority of individuals that have been utilizing the service are needing transportation to Saskatoon for medical appointments.

“We just decided we are kinda one of the only transport companies around here so we figured we’d try to step up and help out the community,” explained Musselman.

Musselman also said they aren’t running the service to make a profit and are just hoping to break even with each trip.

Trips run as scheduled even if there is only one person needing a ride.

Musselman uses a 14 passenger bus for the trips but of course has access to the large charter buses if they are needed.
