The Birch Hills Public School was recently on the receiving end of a very generous donation.
Principal Jeff Court said they were definitely surprised with the anonymous funds.
“We received a phone call about a month ago and worked with a gentlemen over the course over the month and received a $100,000 donation to help our school and students have some experiences,” said Court.
The donor genuinely wanted to make a donation to the school because he feels that high school education and experiences are very important.
“Giving a gift back to his home community is something he feels is important but doesn’t want the accolades that typically come with that,” explained Court.
They are still in the planning stages of where they will use the money.
Court said they have talked to staff, students and parent council and are throwing around ideas but nothing is concrete thus far.
