A semi and minivan collision Tuesday afternoon has resulted in an 83 year-old man facing charges.

At around 3:30pm, the man attempted to turn east onto highway 5 from highway 41 southbound where he failed to yield to traffic.

A semi that was traveling east on highway 5 struck the minivan, sending the man and his passenger to hospital.

Saskatoon Police say both of the occupants of the minivan had only minor injuries, the semi driver was not injured.

Traffic restrictions were in place but have since been cleared and traffic flow is back to normal.
