Youth have a chance to experience what it’s like to be in the fire service.
Carrot River Fire Rescue is hosting a Youth Fire Boot Camp over the upcoming weekend.
Fire Chief Scott Debienne says anyone aged 14 to 18 is welcome to participate.
“Anyone that’s interested in the fire service, might have interest in the fire service, want to come out and have some fun, come on out and register for the weekend,” said Debienne.
The full weekend of training including food and accommodations is $100 a person according to Debienne, “and we’re gonna have a blast with team building and playing with some really interesting stuff.”
The registration deadline is Wednesday.
The event begins on Friday evening and runs until Sunday evening.
Debienne says participating in the event may lead someone to becoming a professional firefighter.
Registration forms can be found on the Carrot River Fire Rescue Facebook page, or contact Debienne by calling 768-3331, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
