Big Brothers Big Sisters in Melfort is welcoming a new caseworker.
Brenda Hadland is excited to join the Melfort team.
“Big Brothers Big Sisters caseworker position will allow me to utilize the skills that I’ve gathered over my many years as working in the human services field and also allow me to make a difference in young people’s lives,” said Hadland.
Hadland is eager to really get started with the Melfort agency, “I’m most excited to be part of the team and help kids reach their full potential, I’m hopeful that we can move forward to get the in school mentoring program underway and that’s the big focus that we’re hoping to work towards.”
The proud metis woman said she has ties to Melfort and the spot within the organization will be a great fit for her.
BBBS has had a busy month with recruiting mentors and building partnerships around the community, and Big Brothers Big Sisters day which was held on September 18th.
Kathryn Carswell said they made a call for mentors in September and had some success but they are always open to more.
“We still need volunteers today and all throughout the year so we are going to encourage everyone to continue to help us spread the word and to maybe even volunteer.”
