Lots of Christmas parties coming up, ours as a matter of fact is this Friday so I thought maybe a few ideas just so...you know...you don't make an ass outta yourself at the office party!
From Gizmodo.com we have these ideas. Most seem like common sense.
Food – Drinking on an empty stomach is a recipe for disaster, a rookie mistake. Have yourself a big, hearty meal before the party.
Choose Your Booze – Red wine and darker spirits like whiskey generally contain more chemicals that can give you a headache and add to your sense of inhibition than clear drinks.
Just Add Water – Alcohol is a diuretic and a dehydrated brain doesn’t function as well. Water is your friend … drink a glass for every alcoholic beverage you consume.
Rest Up – The symptoms of exhaustion can manifest themselves in a manner similar to drunkenness. Adding alcohol to the equation only amplifies this effect.
Try Supplements – B vitamins are one of the first things alcohol sucks from your body. Those little pouches of Emergen-C are electrolyte-balanced and have all the B vitamins you need.
Caution With the Caffeine – While it’s true that caffeine will keep you more awake, it will not keep you more sober. In fact, caffeine can trick you into thinking you’re better off than you are.
Use Your Head – There’s a fine line between ‘life of the party’ and ‘obnoxious idiot’. Take it slow and easy, have fun, then take a friggin’ cab home.
Training – Alcohol is a toxin that our bodies must adapt to in order to metabolize and deal with. That kind of adaptation takes time and repetition. (Well okay, if you insist.)
I think the main thing to remember is to use your head! Cause you really don't want your boss finding you sitting in his chair passed out like that guy! ^^^
