A Maple Creek man has pleaded guilty to running down a pronghorn antelope.

45 year old Jonathon Hofer was fined over 32 hundred dollars for chasing a big game animal with a vehicle under the Wildlife Act, and waste of game.

He also received a one-year hunting and trapping suspension.

A off-duty conservation officer saw an ATV chase the antelope in October, run it over, then load it into the box.

The driver, who had 3 youths with him, told the conservation officer to leave the area, and an on-duty officer found the antelope in the trees where the ATV had stopped earlier that day.
