A successful ‘Ding in the New Year’ program in Prince Albert.

417 people took the free public transit in the city New Year’s Eve, up from the 199 the previous year.

Transportation and Traffic Manager Keri Sapsford says a new option was also well received.

“We added special needs transportation this year, which was also a success” says Sapsford.

“Four people who would otherwise not be able to go out New Year’s Eve were able to take our special needs transit service and enjoy the New Year.”

Over 10 thousand free and safe rides home have been offered since the program started in 1989.
