He says Highway 5 should be cleared later this afternoon, and detours remain in place in the meantime.

The Transportation Safety Board investigation into yesterday’s train derailment and fire is now underway.

About 50 people were evacuated yesterday after a CN train carrying dangerous goods, including petroleum distillates, derailed and caught fire.

Twenty-six cars jumped the tracks.

TSB spokesperson Rob Johnston says they’ll look into the state of the track and the train, and whether there were any mechanical issues.

Commissioner of Emergency Management and Fire Safety Duane McKay says air quality samples have been completed, and water sampling is ongoing today.

The Rural Municipality of Lakeview has lifted their local state of emergency, as of 8:30 this morning.

There were no injuries in the incident.
